Raina has been a member of the Indian cricket team for ODIs since July 2005, and was included in the Test squad in early 2006, but has yet to make his Test debut. Domestically he plays for Uttar Pradesh (Uttar Pradesh cricket team) in the Ranji Trophy and Central Zone (Central Zone cricket team) in the Duleep Trophy. He is an attacking left-handed batsman , who is known for his ability to hit the stumps from the infield. He is also an occasional off-spinner.
