Ryan David Leaf (born May 15, 1976) is a former American football quarterback who played for the San Diego Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Dallas Cowboys between 1998 (1998 NFL season) and 2001 (2001 NFL season).
Leaf had a successful college career at Washington State University, where he was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy after his junior year. He was selected as the second overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft where many scouts predicted that Leaf would have a successful career in the league. However, despite his athleticism, his time as a pro was short and marked by injuries and failure.
