Robert Fico (born September 15, 1964) is the current Prime Minister of Slovakia (List of Prime Ministers of Slovakia) (since July 4, 2006).
His relatively new left-wing party Direction - Social Democracy (Slovak (Slovak language): SMER - Soci�lna demokracia) was the winner of the parliamentary elections in 2006 (Slovak parliamentary election, 2006), receiving approximately 30 percent of the cast votes. After the victory he created a coalition with the Slovak National Party an extremist nationalist party led by J�n Slota and with the Peoples Party - Movement for a Democratic Slovakia led by Vladim�r Me?iar.
