Ram Gopal Varma (Telugu: ???? ?????? ????, born 7 April 1962) is an Indian film (Cinema of India) director (Film director), screenwriter and producer (Film producer). Varma has directed, written and produced films across multiple genres—psychological thrillers, underworld gang warfare (Indian mafia), politician-criminal nexus, and musicals (Musical film)—and in multiple languages—Telugu (Cinema of Andhra Pradesh) and Hindi (Bollywood).

Shiva (Shiva (film)) (1989) was his first film as director and Rann (Rann_(film)) (2010) is his most recent one. He gained recognition in Hindi cinema (Bollywood), also known as "Bollywood", with Rangeela (Rangeela (film)) (1995).
