Raja Chaudhary, part of Bigg Boss 2 (Bigg Boss (Season 2)), the Indian version of the hit British reality TV show Big Brother (Big Brother (TV series)), is a one-time Bhojpuri film actor and producer known more famously as the estranged husband of the immensely popular television actress Shweta Tiwari. Raja hails from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
The couple married on 23 December 1999. In happier times, the couple featured together in Season 2 of the popular reality dance show Nach Baliye 2 (Nach Baliye). Raja played villain in the Bhojpuri film Saiyyan Hamar Hindustani opposite Shweta Tiwari. He has also acted in TV serials like Your Honour (Your Honour (TV series)), Daddy Samjha Karo and Aane Wala Pal.
Since his entry into the Bigg Boss house on 17 August 2008, Raja Chaudhary?s popularity has grown prolifically. He has been nominated for eviction a record five times and has been saved on each occasion by his loyal public following. Despite eventually finishing second-best to contestant Ashutosh Kaushik because of what the media has labeled a sympathy vote, Raja Chaudhary still leads the online popularity poll among all housemates being conducted on the official website of Bigg Boss 2. Admired by fans for his straight-talking tongue-in-cheek polemic, he is criticized by his detractors for his temper tantrums and for being coarse and vulgar, particularly in his language. Bigg Boss 2 will be remembered by most viewers as much for his confrontations with Bhojpuri item girl Sambhavna Seth as for his delectable chemistry with Rahul Mahajan (Rahul Mahajan (politician)), son of the late politician Pramod Mahajan. His graciousness in defeat has further endeared him to fans.
He is currently featuring in a TV serial called Black on 9X Channel, directed by Sunil Agnihotri, a noted director and producer.
