Patrick Galen Dempsey (born January 13, 1966) is an American (United States) actor and race car driver (Auto racing), known for his role as neurosurgeon Dr. Derek Shepherd (Derek Shepherd) ("McDreamy") on the medical drama Greys Anatomy. He has also recently appeared in several films, including Sweet Home Alabama (Sweet Home Alabama (film)), The Emperors Club, Freedom Writers, Enchanted (Enchanted (film)) and Made of Honor.
