Oakland Community College (OCC) is a community college established June 8, 1964 in Oakland County, Michigan. It opened September 1965 with two campuses - Highland Lakes, a renovated hospital in Union Lake (Union Lake, Michigan), and Auburn Hills, a former Army (US Army) Nike missile site in Auburn Hills (Auburn Hills, Michigan).
OCC is the largest of Michigans community colleges.
The teams are known as the Raiders and compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NCJAA) and the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA). Mens varsity sports include basketball, cross-country, and golf; womens varsity sports include basketball, cross-country, softball, tennis, and volleyball; mens club sports include soccer. OCC also has a competitive speech and performance team (the forensics team) that has had both State and National champions. OCC also has a vibrant and growing performing arts program with a free 2-day Performance Festival event each February and regular theater shows. OCC also has a nationally acclaimed Culinary Studies Institute. OCC also is regionally recognized for its outstanding ABA approved paralegal program.
