The Nokia 5230 is the latest XpressMusic phone from Nokia. It is a candybar (Candybar phone#Bar) style phone similar in shape to the 5800 (Nokia 5800) but does not have a secondary camera and is not branded as XpressMusic on the front. The main camera is smaller, at 2 megapixels and connectivity excludes Wi-Fi. This phone operates on the Symbian S60 5th Edition (S60 5th edition#S60 5th Edition) platform.
Nuron version of 5230 comes preloaded with maps of the United States of America, Canada and Mexico. In January 2010, Nokia announced that Ovi Maps will be available for free for certain smartphones which includes the Nokia 5230, thus enabling offline navigation for more than 180 countries.
