Those with dairy cows are paying in some cases as much as $21 to $28 per week per head of cattle for grazing Even when you factor in the New Zealand dollar is worth US$ 75 that still makes that $14 00 bale of hay worth $10 50 That better be a big bale of hay

New Zealand is an island country in the south-western Pacific Ocean comprising two main landmasses (the North Island and the South Island), and numerous smaller islands (Islands of New Zealand), most notably Stewart Island/Rakiura and the Chatham Islands. The indigenous M?ori language name for New Zealand is Aotearoa, commonly translated as The Land of the Long White Cloud. The Realm of New Zealand also includes the Cook Islands and Niue (self-governing but in free association (Associated state)); Tokelau; and the Ross Dependency (New Zealands territorial claim in Antarctica (Territorial claims of Antarctica)).

New Zealand is notable for its geographic isolation: it is situated about 2,000 km (1250 miles) southeast of Australia across the Tasman Sea, and its closest neighbours to the north are New Caledonia, Fiji and Tonga. During its long isolation New Zealand developed a distinctive fauna (Biodiversity of New Zealand) dominated by birds (Birds of New Zealand), a number of which became extinct after the arrival of humans and the mammals they introduced (Invasive species in New Zealand).

The majority of New Zealands population is of European descent (New Zealand European); the indigenous (indigenous peoples of Oceania) M?ori are the largest minority. Asian (Asian people)s and non-M?ori Polynesians are also significant minority groups, especially in urban areas (List of cities in New Zealand). The most commonly spoken language is English (English language).

New Zealand is a developed country that ranks highly in international comparisons on many topics, including education (Education Index), economic freedom (Indices of economic freedom), and lack of corruption (Corruption perceptions index). Its cities also consistently rank among the worlds most liveable.

Elizabeth II, as the Queen of New Zealand (Monarchy in New Zealand), is the countrys head of state and is represented by a Governor-General (Governor-General of New Zealand) who holds reserve powers. The Queen and Governor-General rarely exercise any power without the advice of the Cabinet. Legislative political power is held by the democratically elected (Democracy) Parliament of New Zealand, and executive political power is effectively exercised by the Prime Minister (Prime Minister of New Zealand) and the rest of the Cabinet (New Zealand Cabinet).
