Clay Morgan Shepherd (born October 12, 1941) has been a NASCAR Sprint Cup driver since 1977 (1977 in NASCAR). He has also raced in the Nationwide (Nationwide Series), and Camping World Truck Series. He is a born again (Born again Christianity) Christian who serves as a lay minister to the racing community. At age 68, he is running a full-time schedule as a driver on the Nationwide Series circuit.
Shepherd became the second-oldest race winner (after Harry Gant) in 1993 (1993 in NASCAR), when he won the spring race at Atlanta (Atlanta Motor Speedway) at the age of 51 years, 4 months, and 27 days.
