

Mercer University is an independent, private (private university), coeducational university with a Baptist heritage located in the U.S. state of Georgia (Georgia (U.S. state)).
Mercer is the only university of its size in the United States that offers programs in eleven diversified fields of study: liberal arts, business, education, music, engineering, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, law, theology, and continuing and professional studies (professional development). Mercer enrolls approximately 8,000 students in its eleven colleges and schools. Students come from approximately 45 states and 65 countries, more than 80% are Georgia residents.
Mercer has major campuses in Macon (Macon, Georgia), Atlanta (Atlanta, Georgia), and Savannah (Savannah, Georgia), regional academic centers for working adult (adult education) students in Henry County (Henry County, Georgia), Douglas County (Douglas County, Georgia), and Eastman (Eastman, Georgia), teaching hospitals in Macon and Savannah, a university press and a performing arts center in Macon, and the Mercer Engineering Research Center in Warner Robins (Warner Robins, Georgia). Mercer is the only private university in Georgia with a NCAA Division I (Division I (NCAA)) athletic program.
