Corperryale LAdorable "Manny" Harris (born September 21, 1989) is an All-Big Ten Conference guard (guard (basketball)) who has completed his junior season for the Michigan Wolverines mens basketball team. He has decided to forgo his final year of collegiate eligibility and declare himself eligible (Eligibility for the NBA Draft) for the 2010 NBA Draft. Harris previously attended Redford High School in city-stateDetroitMichigan, where he was a two-time All-State first team selection and won the states Mr. Basketball (Mr. Basketball of Michigan) award as a senior. He led his team to three consecutive Detroit Public School League championships. Harris is one of only five Big Ten Conference basketball players to have finished in the top ten in the conference in scoring, rebounding, and assist average in the same season and prior to Evan Turners 2009-10 season, Harris 2008-09 season was the only time a player had finished in the top six of all three categories.
At Michigan, he has been a 2008-09 (2008-09 NCAA Division I mens basketball season) first team All-Big Ten Conference selection, a 2007-08 (2007-08 NCAA Division I mens basketball season) second team All-Big Ten selection and a 2009-10 (2009-10 NCAA Division I mens basketball season) third team All-Big Ten selection. Harris also earned Big Ten Academic All-Conference honors as a sophomore after the 2008-09 Big Ten Conference season (2008-09 Big Ten Conference mens basketball season). At the conclusion of the 2009-10 Big Ten Conference regular season (2009-10 Big Ten Conference mens basketball season), he earned repeat recognition as an Academic All-Conference performer.
He entered his sophomore season as the leading returning scorer in the Big Ten. During his sophomore season, Harris was the 2008-09 Big Ten leader in free throws made, free throw percentage, and was its second leading scorer. He was among the 2008-09 conference statistical leaders in numerous statistics (points (Point (basketball)), rebounds (rebound (basketball)), assists (assist (basketball)) and steals (Steal (basketball))).
Entering his junior season, Harris was a second-team FOX Sports preseason All-American. However, he was not selected by ESPN to its preseason All-American team. He was named among the 50 preseason Wooden Award (John R. Wooden Award) watch list nominees and the 50 preaseason Naismith College Player of the Year watchlist candidates. The Big Ten media selected him to the preseason conference first team. Harris began the 2009-10 NCAA Division I mens basketball season by recording the second triple double in school history. At midseason he was named as a finalist for the 2010 Bob Cousy Award and a Midseason Top-30 finalist for the 2010 John Wooden Award.
