Mamata Banerjee (lang-bn???? ???????????????, born 5 January 1955) is an Indian politician from the state of West Bengal and current Railway Minister (Ministry of Railways (India)) of India. She is the founder and chief executive of the Trinamool Congress ("Grassroots Congress") political party. Mamata Banerjee is widely regarded as "Didi" (Bengali word meaning "Elder Sister") in West Bengal. She is noted for her opposition to Special Economic Zones and industrialization in West Bengal at the cost of agriculturalists and laborers.
