Legend of the Seeker is a weekly American television series based on The Sword of Truth novels by Terry Goodkind. Distributed in U.S. by Disney-ABC Domestic Television, ABC Studios is producing the series, which is in its first foray into broadcast syndication, with Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert, Joshua Donen, Ned Nalle and Kenneth Biller serving as executive producers. The show premiered on November 1, 2008.

The series follows the epic journey of a young woods guide named Richard Cypher (Craig Horner), a mysterious woman named Kahlan Amnell (Bridget Regan) and a wizard named Zeddicus Zul Zorander (Bruce Spence) to stop Darken Rahl (Craig Parker) from unleashing an ancient and terrifying power.

In 2009, the series won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series.

The Tribune Company decided not to renew the series on March 4, 2010. The shows owner, ABC, has announced that while Tribune has decided to drop Seeker, this is not the deciding factor on whether it is cancelled completely. On April 26 Ausiello Files reported that Legend of the Seeker had been cancelled and would not return for a third season. Fans of the series have responded by launching a renewal campaign titled "Save Our Seeker". Terry Goodkind has expressed his support for the campaign.

In March of 2010, TheTorchOnline revealed that ABC Studios are looking to renew the series for Season 3. SyFy almost picked up the show, but due to issues with money, decided against it.cn According to comments on DirecTVs (DirecTV) Twitter page, they are possibly considering picking up Legend of the Seeker.
