Kwame James Brown (born March 10, 1982 in Charleston (Charleston, South Carolina), South Carolina) is an American (United States) professional basketball player who currently plays for the Detroit Pistons. The heightft=6in=11, convert270lbkg stabbr=on center (Center (basketball)) was the 1st overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards, and was the first number one draft pick (NBA first overall draft pick) to be selected straight out of high school. He has also played for the Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies. He has not met the high expectations that marked his arrival into the NBA.
