Kate Mara (born February 27, 1983) is an American (United States) television and film actress. Beginning acting in her hometown of Bedford, New York (Bedford (town), New York), she moved from the stage to her first film, Random Hearts (1999). Her notable roles include appearances in the Academy Award (Academy Awards)-winning film Brokeback Mountain, playing the daughter of Heath Ledgers character, and on the Fox (Fox Broadcasting Company) television series 24 (24 (TV series)), as computer analyst Shari Rothenberg (Minor CTU agents in 24#24: Season 5). She has since appeared in the feature films We Are Marshall (2006), Shooter (Shooter (film)) (2007), Transsiberian (Transsiberian (film)) (2008), Stone of Destiny (Stone of Destiny (film)) (2008), and The Open Road (2009). Mara joined the cast of the HBO series Entourage (Entourage (TV series)) for its sixth and seventh seasons. She had a cameo appearance in Iron Man 2, and her upcoming films in 2010 include happythankyoumoreplease, Ironclad (Ironclad (film)), and 127 Hours.
