Joseph Patrick Mauer (born April 19, 1983 in Saint Paul, Minnesota) is a Major League Baseball catcher for the Minnesota Twins. Mauer is regarded as one of the best defensive and offensive catchers in baseball and has also won three batting titles (List of Major League Baseball batting champions) and the AL MVP award (Major League Baseball Most Valuable Player Award).
