JaMarcus Russell (born August 9, 1985 in Mobile, Alabama) is an American football quarterback who is currently a free agent.
He played college football at LSU (LSU Tigers football) where he had a 21-4 win-loss record as a starter, winning a BCS (Bowl Championship Series) bowl game. Drafted by the Oakland Raiders as the first overall pick of the 2007 NFL Draft, Russell played for the team from 2007 to 2009. During that period, he was 7-18 as a starter before he was released, making his time with the Raiders the shortest tenure with the drafting team among quarterbacks taken with the first pick of the NFL draft. In that same criteria, Russell has the worst win-loss record as a starter.
