Heartbreak Ridge is a 1986 (1986 in film) war film, starring Clint Eastwood (who also produced and directed) and Mario Van Peebles, surrounding the 1983 U.S. (United States) invasion of Grenada, West Indies. A portion of the movie was filmed on the island itself.
The title comes from the Battle of Heartbreak Ridge in the Korean War. The character played by Eastwood was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions there.
