Gemma Christina Arterton (born 12 January 1986) is an English (England) actress. Her commercial breakthrough was her role as the eponymous heroine in the BBC adaptation of Thomas Hardys Tess of the DUrbervilles (Tess of the DUrbervilles (TV serial)). She has since starred in many feature films including British comedy St Trinians (St Trinians (2007 film)) and its sequel St. Trinians II: The Legend of Frittons Gold, as well as blockbuster hits: James Bond film Quantum of Solace (2008), Clash of the Titans (Clash of the Titans (2010 film)), and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (film)) (2010).
