The company, whose headquarters are in Grapevine, Texas (a suburb of Fort Worth), United States, operates 6,200 retail stores throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Austria, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Portugal, and in Sweden. GameStop opened around 400 new stores for the 2009 business year.

The company operates retail stores under the name GameStop, EB Games, Babbages, Micromania, MovieStop, and Funcoland.
