He is the 2002 and 2010 Winter Olympics silver medalist, 2006 Winter Olympics (List of Olympic medalists in figure skating) gold medalist, three-time World Champion (World Figure Skating Championships), six-time European Champion (European Figure Skating Championships), a four-time Grand Prix Final champion and an eight-time (1999-2002, 2004-2006, 2010) Russian national champion (Russian Figure Skating Championships).
