HASSELHOFF RELEASED FROM REHABDAVID HASSELH OFF was admitted to a rehabilitation centre in the U.K. earlier this week (begs05Oct09) after he accidentally hit a doctor during a drinking binge, according to reports. The Baywatch star had allegedly been boozing for days in his suite at London's St. Martins Lane Hotel, prompting his assistant to call for medical help. Hasselhoff was livid to discover that Doctor Paul Ettlinger had been called and hit out - accidentally striking the physician, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper. David Michael Hasselhoff (born July 17, 1952) is an American (United States) actor and singer. He is best known for his lead roles as Michael Knight (Michael Knight (Knight Rider)) in the popular 1980s U.S. series Knight Rider (Knight Rider (1982 TV series)) and as L.A. County Lifeguard Mitch Buchannon in the series Baywatch. Hasselhoff also produced Baywatch for a number of seasons in the 1990s up until 2001, when the series ended with Baywatch Hawaii. Hasselhoff also crossed over to a music career during the end of the 1980s and the early 1990s. He was noted for his performance at the Berlin Wall in 1989. He enjoyed a short lived success as a singer primarily in German-speaking Europe. More recently, Hasselhoff has been involved with talent shows such as NBCs Americas Got Talent in 2006. Hasselhoffs autobiography, Making Waves, was released in the United Kingdom in September 2006.
