Brent Robert Barry (born December 31, 1971) is an American (United States) former professional basketball player. The heightft=6in=7, convert210lbkg stabbr=on shooting guard was selected out of Oregon State University by the Denver Nuggets with the 15th overall pick in the 1995 NBA Draft, but was traded shortly after to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Barry, born in Hempstead (Hempstead (village), New York), New York, is the son of Hall of Famer (Basketball Hall of Fame) Rick Barry, and was arguably the best player of the four basketball-playing Barry sons, the others being Scooter (Scooter Barry), Jon (Jon Barry) and Drew (Drew Barry). His stepmother, Lynn Barry, was also a distinguished basketball player in college. Brent, the second youngest, played his high school basketball at athletic powerhouse De La Salle High School (De La Salle High School (Concord, California)) in Concord (Concord, California), California before receiving a basketball scholarship to play at Oregon State University. Barry earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology while in college.
Barry played professionally for the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, Seattle SuperSonics, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets, winning two NBA Championships (NBA Finals) with the Spurs, in 2005 (2005 NBA Finals) and 2007 (2007 NBA Finals). He also won the 1996 NBA Slam Dunk Contest (Slam Dunk Contest#1990s 2). He is known by his nickname "Bones".
Following the conclusion of his NBA career, Barry was hired as a studio host for the NBA TV show "NBA Gametime."
