Andrea Bocelli, Grande Ufficiale OMRI (Order of Merit of the Republic) (born 22 September 1958) is an Italian (Italian people) pop tenor and crossover (Crossover (music)) artist.

Since winning the Newcomers section of the Sanremo Music Festival (Festival della canzone italiana), in 1994, he has recorded thirteen studio albums, of both pop (pop music) and classical (classical music) music, two greatest hits albums, and eight complete operas, selling over 70 million copies worldwide (List of best-selling music artists#50 million to 74 million records). Thus, he is the biggest-selling singer in the history of Classical music.
