Airbus A400M is a European four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft. It was designed by Airbus Military as a tactical airlifter with strategic capabilities. The aircrafts maiden flight, originally planned for 2008, took place on 11 December 2009 in Seville, Spain.

Currently 184 aircraft are ordered by 8 nations. First deliveries to the French Air Force are planned to take place at the end of 2012. Deliveries of the current orders will conclude in 2025.
