Abhinav Bindra (lang-pa????? ?????? (Gurmukh? script), born September 28, 1982) is an Indian shooter (shooting sports) from Zirakpur, Mohali, Punjab (Punjab (India)) and is the current World and Olympic champion in the 10 m Air Rifle event. By winning the gold in the 10 m Air Rifle event at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, he became the first Indian to win an individual gold medal at the Olympic Games and Indias first gold medal since 1980 (1980 Moscow Olympics), when the Mens Field Hockey Team (India national field hockey team) won the gold.
