Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar (Dari (Dari (Eastern Persian))/Pashto (Pashto language): ???????? ?????; born c. 1968), also called Mullah Baradar Akhund or Mullah Brother, is a co-founder of the Taliban movement in Afghanistan and an Afghan (Afghanistan) Taliban leader. The deputy of Mullah Mohammed Omar and captured leader of the Quetta Shura, Baradar was largely seen as the de facto leader of the Taliban as of 2009. He was captured by U.S. and Pakistani forces in Pakistan on February 8, 2010, in a morning raid.
