Aaron Jon Schock (born May 28, 1981) is a Republican (Republican Party (United States)) member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing the 18th district of Illinois (Illinoiss 18th congressional district). The district is based in Peoria (Peoria, Illinois) and also includes part of Springfield (Springfield, Illinois). The area had once been represented by Abraham Lincoln, when it was numbered as the 7th district.factdate=December 2009
Prior to his election, Schock was a school board member in Illinois and later president of the board. Schock was the youngest member of the Illinois House of Representatives and has assumed this position again as the youngest member of the U.S. House (List of youngest members of the United States Congress) in the 111th Congress (111th United States Congress). Schock is also the first member of the United States Congress born in the 1980s.
